Steady in Your Seat

A Clinical Supervision Circle for Trauma Therapists

New dates for Summer 2026

Trauma therapy asks a great deal of the therapist. Even experienced clinicians encounter moments in the work that feel uncertain, activating, or quietly shake our confidence. When those moments happen, it can be easy to slip into overthinking, self-criticism, or the sense that we should already know exactly what to do.

This supervision circle is designed as a place to pause, reconnect, and strengthen your internal ground as a trauma therapist. Together we’ll explore the moments in practice that feel sticky or complex, while cultivating the steadiness, clarity, and relational presence that allow meaningful trauma work to unfold. The intention is not simply to analyze cases, but to support the therapist at the centre of the work — helping you return to your seat with confidence, compassion, and clinical insight.

All mental health professionals at any stage of their career are welcome.

A Supervision Circle for Trauma Therapists

This offering is a small supervision circle for trauma therapists who want to deepen their capacity in complex relational work, not by adding more techniques, but by strengthening the therapist at the centre of the work.

In complex trauma therapy, our presence is not separate from the intervention. It is the intervention. Our steadiness, our pacing, our attunement, our ability to stay regulated in the face of intensity, these shape the therapeutic field in profound ways.

And yet, even experienced trauma therapists encounter moments that quietly shake their confidence.

There are sessions where something in us tightens. We overthink. We brace. We question ourselves afterward. We leave wondering what we missed. Those moments are not signs that you are failing. They are part of doing meaningful relational work.

Steady in Your Seat is a space to work directly with those moments — in a way that is grounded, clinically thoughtful, and genuinely supportive.

Who This Is For

This circle is designed for therapists who:

  • Work with trauma including complex relational trauma

  • Value depth and embodied clinical work

  • Sometimes leave sessions replaying what they “should” have done

  • Want to feel more at ease and confident in their therapeutic seat

  • Are seeking supervision that supports both clinical thinking and therapist steadiness

  • It is appropriate for clinicians who have foundational trauma training and want to deepen their relational capacity as well as expand their list of techniques.

What This Circle Is About

How the Sessions Will Flow

Each session will begin with guided grounding and reflective resourcing practices designed to help you settle into your body and nervous system before moving into consultation.

From that grounded place, we will:

  • Invite participants to share clinical moments they would like to explore

  • Work with therapist experience in real time (countertransference, activation, bracing, collapse, urgency)

  • Practice returning to regulation and clarity

  • Integrate insights in a way that strengthens long-term sustainability

These practices are not about turning supervision into therapy. They are about strengthening your internal ground as a professional — so your presence, your voice, and your intuition can come forward more naturally in the room.

This supervision circle focuses on helping you:

  • Stay settled in your body during complex sessions

  • Notice when you begin to slide out of your therapeutic seat

  • Work skillfully with self-doubt, activation, or internal pressure

  • Strengthen your confidence and clarity in the moment

  • Deepen your clinical presence in relational trauma work

We will absolutely think clinically together. Consultation is the spine of our time. But equal attention will be given to what is happening inside you as the therapist.

You do not need to present a perfect case formulation. You can bring the sticky moments — the confusing interactions, the uncomfortable ruptures, the subtle enactments, the sessions that left you unsettled.

Together, we’ll explore what was happening for you in those moments and how to return to steadiness from there.

Why “Steady in Your Seat”?

In trauma work, we can subtly lean forward to rescue, pull back when overwhelmed, tighten under pressure, or lose our internal ground when something unexpected happens.

Learning to return — again and again — to your seat as the therapist is a practice.

Steadiness is not rigidity. It is embodied confidence, compassionate self-leadership.
and the ability to remain present without collapsing or overextending.

This circle is an intentional space to strengthen that steadiness.

The Intention

Over the course of these three sessions, my hope is that you feel:

  • More grounded in your body during sessions

  • More trusting of your clinical instincts

  • Less caught in self-criticism

  • More confident in your relational presence

  • Better resourced to sustain complex trauma work into the fall

This is the kind of supervision space I have valued deeply in my own development, one where the therapist is strengthened alongside the work itself.

If this resonates, I would be glad to have you in the circle.
