What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a safe, gentle and deeply relaxing therapeutic technique that can bring positive changes in your mental and emotional health quicker than traditional talk therapy.
Hypnosis treatment accesses a natural state of highly focused attention and heightened awareness, often referred to as trance. You actually naturally go into trance multiple times a day. In this trance state, a deeper level of consciousness wakes up and that critical, busy part of your brain is temporarily subdued. ​
When this happens, your mind is calm, thoughts are settled and clear, your body is grounded and at ease and from here, you can access you Inner Healer - a deep, wise part of your psyche where intuition and insight comes from.

Where compassion meets clinical wisdom
I am not your average Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have over 18 years of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I believe hypnotherapy should be practiced within a framework of clinical psychotherapy expertise.

I am trained in many complimentary and evidence-based tools such as sensorimotor/somatic psychotherapy, inner child state therapy, mindfulness and EMDR. I see our hypnotherapy sessions as a chance to learn what your unique path to feeling better is and to craft a customized approach for you. ​
​As Your Online Hypnotherapist, my approach is friendly, compassionate, anti-oppressive, accepting and welcoming of all forms of diversity. I offer a safe and caring space to heal — one that meets you where you are, emotionally and energetically.

How do Hypnotherapy Sessions Work?
Hypnotherapy is always a collaborative experience. Sessions begin with deciding to work on a particular issue of concern. Then we spend some time studying your experience of the struggle, learning about what thoughts, beliefs or underlining conflicts may be contributing to it and what you are longing to see change.
As your Online Hypnotherapist, I will guide you by using mindful, somatic induction tools, verbal cues, somatic resourcing and positive suggestions (based on your preferences and decided beforehand) to help you deepen into healing trance.
My practice is rooted in relational trauma-informed hypnotherapy, so I will work collaboratively with you to find your own unique path to bring the transformation you are seeking.

What are the next steps?
Your hypnotherapy journey begins with booking a 45min Initial Clinical Hypnotherapy session
In this initial session we will meet, explore your current struggles and set some goals for treatment. I will go through any questions you have about hypnotherapy and we may try out a short induction to help you get a feel for how it works.

You should plan to be in a safe, confidential space where you are comfortable having your online session.
Ensure you have a strong, secure WIFI connection and some good headphones.
Your online Hypnotherapy sessions are through Doxy Videoconferencing, a secure, encrypted Telehealth platform.
Be assured that online hypnotherapy is highly effective and offers the same results as in person. Due to being in the comfort of your own space, in some cases it is even more effective.
