What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a safe, gentle therapeutic technique that can bring positive changes in your mental and emotional health quicker than traditional talk therapy. As an online Hypnotherapist, I work with you to find relief in the comfort of your own home.
Hypnosis is a deeply relaxing state of focused attention and heightened awareness, often referred to as trance. In this trance state, you have access to a hypnotic consciousness and that critical, busy part of your brain is temporarily subdued.
When this happens, your mind is calm, thoughts are settled and clear, your body is grounded and at ease and from here, you can access deep insight.
It is a popular misconception, that in hypnosis, you lose consciousness, but in fact, you are actually very awake and aware. Your attention is highly focused and you remain very aware of your surroundings.
By concurrently being awake, but deeply relaxed, we tap into deeper levels of consciousness, where knowledge of deep-seated issues and patterns reside and the resources needed to resolve them.

How does Hypnosis Work?
Hypnotherapy is always a collaborative experience. Sessions begin with deciding to work on a particular issue of concern. We work together to find your unique pathway to a deeply relaxing state often called Trance state.
I will guide you by using mindful, somatic induction tools, verbal cues, somatic resourcing and positive suggestions (based on your preferences and decided beforehand) to help you deepen into healing trance.
You are fully aware and in control throughout the session. They say - all hypnosis is self hypnosis. You can return to full alertness at any time and retain full control over your actions and decisions.​
During this trance state, you are highly focused with a clear, unblocked, insightful mind and have more access to the subconscious material at the root of the struggle.

By delving into these deeper layers of the psyche, you can uncover the origins of your issues, whether they are related to trauma, unresolved conflicts, or past negative experiences that may be influencing your present struggle.
Your mind becomes more neuroplastic - which means you are more able to access inner resources and integrate positive suggestions to resolve the inner conflict. It is quite a transformative process. ​
We will work collaboratively on finding your own unique path to the resources, tools, new insights and shifts in beliefs that will bring the transformation you are seeking.
What you can expect
Your hypnotherapy journey begins with booking a 55min Initial Clinical Hypnotherapy Assessment Session.
In this initial session we will meet, explore your current struggles and set some goals for treatment. I will go through any questions you have about hypnotherapy and we may try out a short induction to help you get a feel for how it works.
After the initial session, we will set up a treatment plan for future sessions to address the issues you want to shift. Usually, we plan on 4-5 sessions together which includes short exercises for you to practice at home. ​​
You should plan to have a safe, confidential space where you are comfortable having your online session. Ensure you have a secure WIFI connection and some headphones.
Your online Hypnotherapy sessions are through Doxy Videoconferencing, a secure, encrypted Telehealth platform.
Be assured that online hypnotherapy is highly effective and offers the same results as in person. Due to being in the comfort of your own space, in some cases it is even more effective.
